Do You Feel Like You’re Gonna Explode?

You know the point where you’re feeling like you might explode

I have been teetering back and forth from that place more than normal lately.

I’m being a bit melodramatic, but that’s easy for me to say when I’m feeling grounded and not like I’m going to explode.

My default setting has blurred boundaries as I work to make sure people in my orbit are comfortable and getting what they want or need. My own needs are secondary because I always feel best when everyone around me is feeling good.

We can talk about the psycho-social implications of this, if this makes you feel better. But seriously...

Lately, my own life has been full of life: magical, fantastic, taxing, grieving, full of love and everything in between. And I’ve been working on being “in the moment” for all of it. This means I have not been available for social time, focusing as intently on my business, or working on my book.

This is all fine, as I really do want to spend as much time as possible in the present.

Unfortunately, my “cup” is so full that whenever someone comes along wanting to pour out whatever is bothering them from their cup into mine, I don’t have the patience to gracefully put my hand over my cup and suggest they dump their excess elsewhere. In other words, I start to feel irritable, anxious, and exhausted, and I don’t have anything “nice to say” - so I either say nothing, or something rude or hurtful.

When I am able to take a breath before answering, I will usually remember to say a prayer: either, “Thank you, Archangel Raguel, for giving me the right words in this situation”, or The Healing Angels Prayer.

I know I’ve mentioned The Healing Angels Prayer in previous blogs. I really do say it multiple times a day – always when my head hits the pillow at night, and upon waking in the morning, but several times in between too. This is how I get past all the really heavy stuff people vent to me throughout each day.

Pour out thy healing angels, thy heavenly hosts, upon me and those I love. Let me/them feel the light of your healing hands, and let thy healing begin whatever way God grants it. Amen!

We aren’t meant to carry everything on our own. It’s good to care for people, but it’s also good to care for yourself. If you’re feeling tired and overburdened by OPS (Other People’s Stuff), it’s time to lay it down and pray. This perfect prayer is the perfect antidote to feeling overburdened – whether it’s your own stuff, other people’s stuff, or a combination. The angels know that we sometimes feel like we’re going to explode, but unless we ask, they cannot intervene. This prayer asks for help and trusts God to know the most healing answer for all involved and intervene accordingly.

You are not alone. Healing help is just a prayer away...
