Whatever Arises, Love That

Matt Kahn is an angel who lives his life as an author/speaker extolling wisdom to people looking to live a better life. His messages are not easy, and they go against the flow of what’s popular in social media and among influencers. That said, he has influenced my thinking, and his words have encouraged me to make better choices/responses.

I’m not sure how I discovered his work, whether it was a suggestion from a friend or “because you listened to this, you might like this” on Audible or something. Truly, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear is true whether one remembers how they showed up to begin with or not.

With Kahn, it started with “Whatever Arises, Love That”.

REVOLUTIONARY!

This guy suggests that each day we are given moments to exercise our “free will” as we are faced with triggers of all sizes: little frustrations, like a pebble in your shoe, to major irritants capable of starting WWIII. We get to decide how we respond AND if we are willing to go inward and give those tender, volatile pieces of us what they really need: more love, not less. It doesn’t take long, just a few moments of tender love focused inward, but it does take consistency.

Why am I feeling like a fire-breathing dragon on a mission to scorch the earth?

I don’t know...let me go inside myself to that place of fear, or hurt, or neglect and love that part of me with all the care and tenderness I would give an abandoned puppy, making that part of me feel like the most special, loved, and cherished being ever born!

We are all worthy of love. Every. Single. One. Of. Us! And, those parts that are explosive, like TNT, need more love, not less. Our reactions to things that arise are billboards letting us know where we are starved for love. By imagining those parts like a newborn baby; swaddling, cuddling, and holding them close to our heart, we heal them. We give those parts the love that they need, and they no longer explode on contact!

Obviously, this can take a while, and I, personally, have not found the end date of discovering how long (in years) loving each one of those internal spots takes. Just when I think I’ve really made some progress, something new is unearthed and I get the chance to free-will me a soothing voice and swaddling blanket or lose my ever-loving sh*t! Let’s just say...I’m staying humbled by my actual track record. Sorry, Fam!

I’m feeling the need to stop this blog here – and continue next week with how to apply this to the outside world.

For now, know that the angels are reminding you that you deserve more love, not less, and as you are afforded moments to go within and love those pieces of yourself that you wish the world would never witness, the angels are right there loving those pieces of you too.

Guardian Angel, thank you for being by my side even at my ugliest moments. Thank you for seeing the scared, hurting, neglected parts of me and helping me to love them deeply and unconditionally until I feel safe and seen. Help me to trust you to fill in the spaces I cannot reach today. I know you’ve got my back always and remember that all parts of me deserve more love, not less, even when I forget. And so it is!
