How to Get the Life You Desire
Have you ever spent time wondering what is keeping you from the life you desire?
Was your answer something external, like: "the man”, “inflation”, or “high unemployment rates”?
Or was it more internal like: “I keep getting in my own way.”, “I made my bed and now need to lie in it.”, or “I don’t feel worthy of more.”?
Manifestation is something we all want to be good at, but those who are best at it have embraced a way of thinking that makes the process somewhat seamless.
Bashar, channeled through Darryl Anka, has shared 5 steps to achieving the life of your dreams.
I have found that unknowingly, for the last four years or so, I have been following these steps. I believe it’s part of the peace I’ve come to know and want to share.
This does not mean my life has always been easy, or that change has happened quickly. It means that at every point of my journey I have been relatively unruffled, feeling grateful and peaceful.
The steps are not always easy, but they are simple.
Act on whatever contains the highest level of attraction, passion, or curiosity first. One of the main ways that Spirit communicates to us is through our interests. What interests you? An apple or a kumquat? Book club or a sporting event? A long hike or a long nap? Spreadsheets or star gazing? Find the things that light a spark of passion in your belly or excitement in your voice and try them on for size. A couple months ago, my husband wanted to change his breakfast routine. Someone suggested cottage cheese and mandarin oranges. He was excited to try that and enjoyed his new breakfast immensely for the first week or two. He ate them every day until that day he was DONE and needed to try something new. Enter: Step 2.
Take that action as far as you can, until you can go no further, or the excitement wanes. Not everything has as easy a fix as swapping out breakfast food, but this is a key component to enjoying life. Perhaps you’re in a job that you were excited about initially and now you dread it...I am not suggesting you quit today. This is about becoming aware of which things light you up with curiosity or excitement, that you feel drawn to. Perhaps get certifications, apply, interview, and get a new job you’re excited about before quitting. THAT is as far as you can take it. On the other hand, if you decide you want to take up a new hobby- say underwater basket weaving, but at your first class you discover that you don’t actually like being under water for extended periods of time - you can go no further, and it is time to find something else that interests you.
Act on your passion with zero insistence or expectation on what the outcome will be. One of my favorite quotes from Colette Barron Reid, in her books and classes on manifesting, is her asking in gratitude for “this or something better”. Imagine life outside the lines, beyond the ceilings, past the parameters. Sometimes we are thinking too small, and sometimes we miss the mark all together. Sometimes things don’t work out at all.
Remain in a positive state NO MATTER what manifests, even if it’s something you don’t prefer. It’s hard to be neutral when you’re disappointed, but it isn’t impossible. Be curious! Getting into a negative state causes you to react to the situation, which perpetuates manifesting MORE of what you don’t prefer. However, if you can get neutral and get to the root of why something is bothering you, it will show you what you DO prefer...something you are passionate about/excited to experience that you can go back to Step 1 to try! There have been times when I’ve created and marketed a class that ZERO people have signed up for or had interest in. It’s humiliating, but it’s also information. It could be the content, the time, the date, or a placeholder for something else I’m supposed to do then. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, it helps me to remember that not everything is THE thing. My sound baths routinely have wait lists – perhaps the information I’m getting is to focus on the sound baths!
Let go of negative, or fear-based beliefs. This can be hard to do – especially if you grew up believing Murphy’s Law of anything that can go wrong will, but changing to a higher perspective brings so much peace. It’s so easy to talk about bad luck, bad news, and bad actors – perpetuating belief that there is more bad than good in the world. This is not true, but we can make it so. What has gone right? What are the glimmers? Look for the helpers. Be a helper! Work on hard wiring yourself to find and believe in the good of humanity. It will create more good!
Life can be challenging, but these five steps, applied to the smallest and grandest decisions, have the power to bring peace, contentment, joy, and fulfillment to your life. Are you ready to change your life?
