Exceptionally Difficult Change

One of the hardest, most painful things to do in life is reconstruct a belief system that has provided a foundation of comfort and stability.

Often, we have been taught from a young age to put our faith in systems, institutions, and other people over our own intuition.

When the system breaks, the institutions are shown to be corrupt, or the people lie to our face when we can see the truth; we are given excuses as to why we should continue to believe in them. This abuse of power is designed to control us and keep us from living in full alignment with our path and purpose.

What I’ve found is that there comes a moment when the dissonance is too great. The veil lifts. The corruption, the greed, the inconsistencies, the lies, the means of manipulation are exposed, much like “the man behind the curtain in The Wizard of Oz” and it becomes impossible to go along anymore. The toothpaste is out of the tube and will not be going back in!

If you have experienced this, you know how painful it is – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually- to go through. Your foundation is shaken, and a rage bubbles up demanding you be proactive.

That’s what happens when we feel unsafe. We are forced to take action. At first, it may be REactive: flight, fight, freeze, or fawn – but this scenario provides an opportunity to go within and find our power.

Our Guardian Angels are with us our entire lives wishing we would recognize the Divine within us, wishing we would trust our intuition the first time, and encouraging us to follow our passions, which were designed to help us recognize our soul path and life purpose!

Unfortunately, our passions get brushed aside as impractical or folly, and we put our trust in something outside of ourselves.  What is it that you have been putting trust in that is beginning to crumble? Where are the lies and deceit? Where are the inconsistencies? Are you seeing greed and corruption? Are you being asked to believe and act on two opposing things? Is this person, place, idea, or institution costing you your peace? Your health? Your joy?

Like I said, it’s extremely difficult to acknowledge that something, or someone, that has been part of how you define your SELF is no longer for you. (My body physically felt like it was being torn apart from my joints!)

It is, however, a gift!

Getting to the point where you begin to believe your inner voice again and start to follow it puts your life into alignment with your soul’s path and purpose.

Trusting your intuition helps put your life into flow. It’s trying to hold onto old systems, old beliefs, that cause pain. Allowing yourself to believe in your gut instincts or to follow your heart brings a sense of ease.

What do you KNOW to be true?

What do you WANT

How do you envision your ideal future – not just for yourself, but for your family, your community, your country, and the world?

What is your role in this ideal world?

Are you willing to trust that the dreams, ideas, passions, and desires that you have aren’t a mistake? They are giving you clues to how to live a life that is more beneficial for you and others.

It’s hard to change strongly held beliefs.

It’s hard to quit judging yourself and others.

It’s hard, but it’s not impossible.

And the beautiful thing about changing your mind about something somebody taught you once upon a time was the “right way” to think about something – is that it’s easier to do again...and again.

In fact, you may find that nothing is worth holding onto quite so tightly as you once did, because you just might get more information (a new perspective) that causes you to shift your beliefs again.

And what was once painfully difficult becomes easier because it brings peace and ease.

Bless you!
