This Little Light of Mine
This little light of mine- I’m going to let it shine.
I learned this song when I was 4 years old and lately it’s been going through my head as if I had just learned it. Indeed, it is taking on new meaning. My light…and YOUR LIGHT are imperative to healing what ails us right now. We have to stop dimming our lights. We have to start recognizing the DIVINE spark within each one of us…that’s what MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE MEANS! That’s what Jesus was talking about - we are all worthy. We all have the light. We need to recognize our own light to be able to recognize it in all creation…including and especially people we don’t agree with.
The monks that are walking from Texas to Washington D.C. have been spreading their message of love and peace, not with words, but in action and frequency. This, too, is what the angels are asking of us at this pivotal time. It’s something we can control - ABSOLUTELY.
The monk’s message that they seek to spread is to take back our spiritual, emotional, and mental autonomy. Go back to our BREATH, the essence of our human beingness. We tend to breathe shallowly, forgetting to breathe into our entire body, and getting stuck in our head - trying to fix things with our thoughts. That has never worked and will never work. We need to find peace within, the light within. Their mantra is: “Today is my day of peace.” That is the thought they are filling their head with as they walk.
As they walk silently, for months, between 25-32 miles a day, they are met with silence, reverence, and awe. People who have been in their presence have remarked that they’ve been moved to tears. This is because these monks are holding the frequency of love. Fear, shame, guilt, anger, regret, anxiety - these do not vibrate at the same frequency, so being amidst such overwhelming love causes a bubbling up of emotion - releasing them to make room for LOVE.
This is what we are being asked to do. Our inner light is pure love…inside every. single. created. being. including YOU!
Start with you. Shine your light brightly at home, at work, in your community. Do for one person what you wish you could do for a whole group of people. Soon we will all be lighthouses in this storm.
This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine!
